Optimization in Machine Learning
This lecture (6 ECTS) will cover optimization methods that typically appear in machine learning. Most importantly, we will discuss different (stochastic) versions of the gradient descent method and their applications in machine learning.

Note:
On Monday, 14.09, Thursday, 17.09, and Monday, 21.09 there will be no lectures. In the lecture on Thursday, 24.09 we will set a date for a catch-up lecture for the material of 21.09.
For 14.09 and 17.09, you should have prepared Section 2.1 in self study.
