Professor Christian Bizer wins SWSA Ten-Year Award

The SWSA Ten-Year Award recognizes the highest impact papers from the ISWC proceedings ten years prior.

We are happy to announce that Professor Christian Bizer has received the SWSA Ten-Year Award at the 18th International Semantic Web Conference (ISWC2019) in Aukland, New Zealand.

The SWSA Ten-Year Award recognizes the highest impact papers from the ISWC proceedings ten years prior (i.e., in 2019 the award honors a paper from 2009). The decision is based on the number of citations to the papers from the proceedings in the intervening decade.

Professor Bizer received the SWSA Ten-Year Award 2019  for the following two papers that he both co-authored:

  1. Olaf Hartig, Christian Bizer, and Johann-Christoph Freytag: Executing SPARQL Queries over the Web of Linked Data
  2. Julius Volz, Christian Bizer, Martin Gaedke, and Georgi Kobilarov: Discovering and Maintaining Links on the Web of Data.

According to Google Scholar, the paper „Discovering and Maintaining Links on the Web of Data” has been cited 403 times as of October 2019.  The paper the paper „Executing SPARQL Queries over the Web of Linked Data” has been cited 418 times as of October 2019.
