With his submitted concept Prof. Roggenkamp could convince, because he manages to motivate students with a sophisticated teaching concept and thus to achieve above-average learning success.

As holder of the Chair of Mathematical Physics at the University of Mannheim, Prof. Dr. Daniel Roggenkamp has comprehensively revised the basic lecture Linear Algebra I and digitized it into a so-called inverted classroom format as part of the award-winning concept. Thematically structured videos replace the classic lecture. In addition, short explanatory videos are integrated directly into the lecture notes. The regular lecture time is used by Prof. Roggenkamp as an in-depth discussion and question hour. Students can submit questions in advance via a forum or contribute spontaneously. Another new feature is that the supplementary exercises, tutorials and homework are offered in the same week as the lecture material. In this way, students can deal intensively with a subject area in one week. The offer is rounded off by a “help desk”, i.e. extensive consultation hours during which tutors offer help with homework. An online test for each topic as well as a mock exam help students to identify gaps in their knowledge at an early stage and to close them, for example, with the help of revision courses.
