Spending a semester abroad should not force you to extend your period of study. You should therefore make sure to choose a partner university that offers enough courses that can be recognized in your program at the University of Mannheim.
Once your have received your acceptance letter for a partner university, you should start filling out your internal Learning Agreement. By concluding this agreement, you will have a guarantee that the courses you choose to attend abroad will be recognized in Mannheim upon return. You can download the relevant forms below.
Generally, there are two ways of recognizing coursework and examinations you complete abroad:
Free movers will receive their letter of acceptance directly from the host university.
Once you have concluded your Learning Agreements with the respective chairs of the University of Mannheim, Juliane Roth from the dean’s office at the School of Business Informatics and Mathematics will sign your Erasmus Learning Agreement in the column “Departmental Exchange Coordinator Mannheim, Sending Institution”. Please attach your signed internal Learning Agreements to the Erasmus Learning Agreement as a scan or bring them along to Ms. Roth's consultation hours. You are required to fill in one internal Learning Agreement for each course you wish to complete abroad and have it signed by the respective chair.
If you are going abroad through an Erasmus program in Europe, concluding an Erasmus Learning Agreement is necessary in order for you to receive your Erasmus grant. You can find and download the Erasmus Learning Agreement in the Mobility-Online Portal.
