Research Goal
My field of research could be roughly summarized under holistic data security. To be more precise, my research is motivated by the fact that people nowadays increasingly allow other parties access to their own data, both knowingly and unknowingly. On the one hand, more and more cloud services are being used where data is knowingly outsourced to service providers who are not necessarily trustworthy. On the other hand, as embedded systems become more widespread, a variety of devices (possibly unknowingly) receive data about people, such as the use of a smartphone or in the context of smart homes. My aim is to protect the content of this data so that the user has as little impact as possible on practicability and usability.
Research Priorities
- Cloud security
- Security in embedded systems
