Our research focuses on optimization theory with applications in Operations Research, Engineering and Machine Learning. We do fundamental research on mathematical optimization theory, game theory and complexity analysis, but are also interested in the design of practical algorithms for solving important societal challenges. A key application domain of the chair is the optimization and control of energy systems and optimization methods for AI.
Our group is cooperating both in research and in teaching activities with the Chair of Scientific Computing (Prof. Simone Göttlich) and the Chair in Probability Theory (Prof. Leif Döring).
