The masters thesis is the core of the masters degree. The objective of the masters thesis is to develop and demonstrate the ability to apply current research results to analyze and solve problems arising in complex systems. For instance, such systems are given by production networks, traffic flow, power grids or systems biology. Writing a master’s thesis gives the opportunity to explore an academic topic in depth. In particular, it demonstrates the students readiness and ability for independent, demanding expert work.
