Sebastian Tiemann hat blonde kurze Haare. Er trägt eine blau-weiß-gestreifte Krawatte, ein weißes Hemd und einen dunklen Blazer.

I found it very difficult to choose one of the many partner universities of the University of Mannheim. Eventually, I decided to go to Korea University in Seoul. It sounds exotic, and it was definitely the most memorable semester of my bachelor’s program. Apart from the subjects, which were quite challenging, I was especially fascinated by South Korean culture – and still am. Only in Seoul will you find such an extraordinary mixture of high tech and century-old history. I also didn’t have any issues with course recognition here in Mannheim, so I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect semester.

  • Getting informed

We recommend the central information sessions on studying abroad offered by the International Office as your first source of information. The study abroad advisors of the International Office are happy to assist you if you have any questions on how to organize your stay abroad (e.g. application, visa, health insurance, financing).

Please address any subject-specific questions regarding the choice of courses and the recognition of coursework and examinations directly to the departmental exchange coordinator at the School of Business Informatics and Mathematics.

  • Making a decision

Please use the following questions as guidelines for your decision:

    • How long do I want to go abroad? Would I like to study abroad, do an internship or maybe even combine the two? Or is a summer school an alternative for me?
    • Which language(s) do I speak at which level? Which regions of the world are open to me with these?
    • When do I want to go abroad? By when do I need to apply?
    • What are my financial possibilities? What kind of scholarships are there? Would I prefer a partner university where I do not have to pay any fees, or can I, as a free mover, also afford a university that charges me (high) tuition fees?
  • Application deadlines

To find out more about the individual steps of the application process, and for additional information as well as student reports, please visit the web pages of the International Office.
You can find the current application deadlines here.

  • Applying

Depending on your destination and your desired mobility period, different partner universities may be suitable for you. Before submitting your application, you should research your target destination(s) in the database of partner universities and name your top five priorities.
